We are excited to announce the launch of a new discussion topic in the EASE Forum, focusing on "Neutrality and Non-Discrimination in Editors' Work." This discussion aims to delve into the critical aspects of maintaining editorial neutrality and ensuring non-discrimination within the editorial process, particularly in light of recent challenges.

Today we faced the re-newed and incredibly difficult challenge of rejecting Ukrainian culture and language, our heritage, and even the very idea of Ukrainian independence. In this context, various issues of possible cooperation with colleagues from state aggressor states arise before the Ukrainian editorial staff. Questions like whether to allow the submission of papers from aggressor states or how to cooperate with reviewers and Editorial board members from such states become paramount.

In this discussion, we are seeking to share cases and explore strategies to find common and best solutions for ensuring the best editorial practices while upholding our commitment to the principles of human rights, equality, and preserving cultural heritage.

Key topics for discussion may include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring unbiased peer review processes.

Addressing potential biases in the selection of reviewers and authors.

Promoting diversity and inclusion in editorial boards.

Strategies to identify and mitigate potential conflicts of interest.

Navigating ethical dilemmas related to neutrality and non-discrimination in the face of geopolitical challenges.

Раді оголосити нову тему для обговорення на Форумі EASE "Нейтральність та недискримінація в роботі редакторів." Ця дискусія спрямована на дослідження критичних аспектів збереження редакційної нейтральності та забезпечення недискримінації в редакційному процесі, особливо в умовах останніх викликів.

Сьогодні ми знову стикаємося з поновленим і надзвичайно складним викликом - невизнанням української культури та мови, нашої спадщини і навіть самої ідеї незалежності України. В цьому контексті перед українськими редакціями постають гостро питання можливої співпраці з колегами з країн-агресорів. Чи допускати подання статей з країн-агресорів або як співпрацювати з рецензентами та членами редакційної ради з таких країн, стають найбільш важливими.

У цій дискусії ми прагнемо поділитися прикладами та розглянути стратегії для пошуку правильних рішень для забезпечення найкращих редакційних стандартів, зберігаючи відданість принципам прав людини, рівності та збереженню культурної спадщини.
