Editors often complain about the quality of manuscripts submitted to their journals. It takes both the editors and authors to produce a good manuscript and their collaboration does not start when the article is accepted. This talk will describe the experiences of editors of a small scholarly journal in developing an author-helpful policy to increase the quality of published articles, as well as how to expand the author-helpful activities beyond the journal to the scientific community.
