How to deal with appeals during the peer review process

This presentation will briefly cover the importance of having an appeal policy, so authors can voice their concerns when presented with peer review decisions which they might consider unfair.

A standard appeal process will be described, as well as how to escalate issues within a journal and the details that need to be considered during such an appeal. Finally, some real cases will be illustrated.

Target audience: Authors, in-house editors, and editorial board members.
